The Paris Commune,
Considering that the Imperial Column in the Place Vendôme is a
monument of barbarism, a symbol of brute force and false glory, an
affirmation of militarism, a denial of international law, a
permanent insult directed at the conquered by their conquerers, a
perpetual attack upon one of the three great principles of the
French Republic,
decrees
The column in the Place Vendôme shall be demolished.
