It was more significant even than the occupiers' immediate demands and goals (which included reinstatement of custodial staff, so already crossing student/worker lines). The crowd that gathered outside Wheeler, facing off riot police (who had been shooting rubber bullets and busting heads), forced the police to release the occupiers with minor charges. The action was a challenge to capitalist subjectivity. A real experience of collective action, the defiance of property rights as defined by the University, the occupation of a colonized space and turning it into a common. ------------------- SUPPORT ARRESTED STUDENTS MONDAY!!! The irony of the situation should be mentioned; that we are being charged with burglary (though we burglarized nothing) whilst the administration is stealing all of our futures.
